Writing
This Blog has really creative ideas to keep your student writing over the summer. The author writes, "This summer I have two readers and writers! This opens up so many possibilities of ways to think and interact with them. On our first day of summer vacation I gave them each their own journal that would be used for the sole purpose of writing letters back and forth with me. So far it has been awesome!" (Camp Kurtz Blog).
Here are some writing prompts from the 3rd Grade teachers. Your child should respond to at least one journal prompt each week. The responses should be composed of at least 5 complete sentences. The content of the responses can be either be factual or more towards the creative end of the spectrum. (Please see the attached list for an assortment of prompts to choose from to the right) Work with your child to edit their journal writing responses from the above list. Pay attention to capitalization, punctuation, and grammar. Other |
